Why Ashley Saadey Chose Capital Law

3/7/2017  - Ashley Saadey, L ’17, chose Capital University Law School because of its small classes. When Ashley took a tour of Capital as a prospective student, she immediately felt that the Law School seemed like a close-knit family where everyone has your back.

Ashley also likes the fact that Capital Law is located in downtown Columbus. The location has given her the opportunity to network and become part of the legal community in the state capital. “The Law School is great at giving students the opportunity to meet many of the attorneys in the surrounding area,” she said.

Currently, Ashley, a third-year student, works for the Public Defender’s office as a Juvenile Law Clerk. Active in the Capital Law community, she is Vice-President of the Health and Law Organization at the law school, works as a Student Ambassador with the Office of Admissions and has volunteered in the VITA program at Capital, in which students help people prepare their federal income tax returns. She is a graduate of Youngstown State University where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science with a minor in Sociology.

Ashley has not decided what her next step will be after graduation, although she knows that she would like to do pro bono work. Receiving a legal education at Capital University Law School has opened many doors for Ashley and she is excited for what the future holds.
