1/29/2019  - For Vincent Wells, L'21, law school was always the plan. After graduating from Lexington (Ohio) High School, he attended The Ohio State University, where he studied political science, with a concentration in American politics.

At Ohio State, Vincent earned an internship with a large law firm headquartered in Columbus. Through this internship, he was offered a full-time position after earning his degree in 2017. Understanding the importance of work experience, Vincent knew he was going to accept this position, but he also knew that he still wanted to attend law school.

After completing his LSAT, Vincent applied to only one school: Capital University Law School. He says, this is because Capital offers a well-respected evening program that allows him to both work and achieve his goals of getting his juris doctor. The law school’s downtown location also made traveling to and from work and school very convenient.

Vincent says his time at Capital has been “very pleasant primarily due to the helpful and accessible professors.”

“You do not find too many law schools who show a willingness to provide this education to individuals who work full-time,” he says.

The convenience and flexibility of being able to have a full-time job while attending law school also offered Vincent the ability to advance his career by accepting a full-time clerkship with a Columbus based criminal defense firm. As a result, he now plans on concentrating in litigation to continue to prepare himself for his career post-law school.
