Why Sydney Braverman Chose Capital

2/16/2021 - Sydney Braverman, L’22, attended Capital University for her undergraduate years, obtaining a degree in psychology and a minor in business management.

Although Sydney loved psychology, she knew it wasn’t something she wanted as a career. She was lost in figuring out what she wanted to do after undergrad. Halfway through junior year of undergrad, the law school option just seemed to “click.” This would be a huge leap of faith for Sydney, as she never grew up around any attorneys.

Sydney chose Capital Law School for a few reasons.

First, she loves Capital University and the small, close-knit community that it brings. Sydney figured she would feel the same at the law school as well, and she was right.

Second, Columbus provides an overwhelming amount of opportunity and growth. After attending undergrad in Columbus, Sydney felt as though Columbus was her home and wanted to continue her journey with Capital University.

Sydney is still unsure of where her law degree will take her. Although her favorite classes have been torts and contracts, she has many more classes to take and continues to enjoy (most of) them. At the end of the day, Sydney’s hope is to become a professor of law, but is still figuring out her path in the meantime.

Outside of the classroom, Sydney is a peer advisor and student ambassador. She loves to explore Columbus, be outside, and spend time with her friends. Although she is very busy with school, she couldn’t image herself at any other law school. CapLaw has brought her many new friends, great new experiences, and a lifetime of opportunity.
