2/26/2020 - Elizabeth Roberto, L'22, has taken her passion for the environment into her role as a legal administrator for the Ohio Department of Natural Resources, where she works to effect policy change through the government process.

A native of Dublin, Ohio, Elizabeth earned her bachelor’s degree in environment and natural resources, specializing in environmental policy and management, from The Ohio State University.

“I chose Capital because of the well-established network of law professionals affiliated with the school in and around Central Ohio, and because of the ability to attend the evening program while still working for ODNR,” she says.

Since 2012, Elizabeth has worked at ODNR in multiple capacities – from an intern to customer service assistant, executive assistant, grant administrator and her current role – learning about state government all along the way. In 2014, she had the opportunity to serve as a type II wildland firefighter fighting the King Fire near Pollock Pines, California.

After graduating from CapLaw, Elizabeth plans to continue working for a government or nonprofit agency practicing environmental law. She hopes her work will impact policies that help to protect and care for our planet and preserve it for future generations.

Her favorite aspect of attending law school in Columbus is the wide range of diverse cultures represented in the city, as well as the ability to live in a large city while still experiencing “a small-town feel.”
