Criminal Law - Professor Coats

Required Text:

Dressler and Garvey's Criminal Law: Cases and Materials, 8th edition (available at the Capital University Bookstore as well as elsewhere online). 

First Assignments:

In advance of our first class, please complete the following:

1.     Find and register for our course’s TWEN page. To find the TWEN page, sign in to Westlaw via the Law School Portal, select TWEN from the drop down menu, and search for our course – Criminal Law (Law 640-B) (Coats).

2.     Complete the Introductory Questionnaire (posted under ‘Assignments’ on TWEN) and submit via TWEN by the end of the day on Sun. August 22 (9 pm). 

For our first class session, please read the following in our casebook: 

·         Chapter 1: pages 1-19 (skim 19-29)

·         Chapter 2: pages 31-44, Notes 1 & 2 on pages 47-48, Notes 1 &2 on 49-50, and pages 51-53 (stop after the Notes & Questions).
