Capital University Board of Trustees member, chair

Capital University Law School Board of Counselors member

Robert J. Weiler has been a close friend of the Law School since starting here as a student in 1979. Upon graduation in 1983, he became a member of the Law School’s adjunct faculty and a mentor to many students and alumni.

Weiler’s leadership roles within the Law School and University community are innumerable. He was a member and Chair of the University’s Board of Trustees and the Law School’s Board of Counselors and co-chaired the building campaign committee that led to the Law School moving into its current location on Broad Street. He and his wife, Missy, provided the first gift to the campaign from an alumnus.

Weiler and his wife became founding members of the Dean’s Council, which recognized individuals’ exceptional generosity to the continued vitality and growth of the Law School. The Weilers have established two student scholarship funds and a fund that supports the Blackmore/Nault Chair in Legal Education.

Weiler is a strong civic volunteer and philanthropist whose commitment to giving back extends to the Central Ohio community as well, including the YMCA, COSI, Central Ohio Transit Authority, United Way, I Know I Can, Columbus Urban League, and as a member and former president of the Columbus Board of Education.
