Dean Valencia Welcomes New Faculty to Law School Community

The Law School is very excited to welcome our four new members to the Law School faculty this semester. A very brief overview of their impressive accomplishments and successes is below. If you have not yet met them or had them in class, please introduce yourselves.
 
Kristopher Armstrong, Professor of Legal Writing – a graduate of Kenyon College with a B.A. in Drama and English, Professor Armstrong received his J.D., summa cum laude, from The Ohio State University – Moritz College of Law. Following law school, Professor Armstrong clerked for the Honorable David A. Katz of the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio, served as an Associate at Baker & Hostetler, L.L.P, and Assistant Attorney General in the Ohio Attorney’s Office, Constitutional Offices Section, as well as working at the Ohio Supreme Court as an Assistant Reporter and Master Commissioner. 
 
Robert Barnhart, Assistant Professor of Law – a cum laude graduate of Ohio University with a B.A. in Philosophy, Professor Barnhart received his J.D., magna cum laude, from the University of Notre Dame Law School. Following law school, Professor Barnhart served as an Assistant Prosecuting Attorney in the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office (serving in the three divisions during his time: Juvenile Division, Grand Jury Division and Criminal Division), owned his own law firm, served as Assistant Public Defender in the Ohio Public Defender’s Office – Death Penalty Unit, and as Assistant Public Defender in the Franklin County Public Defender’s Office. 
 
Jennifer Goldson, Professor of Legal Writing – a magna cum laude graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.A. in Theatre, Professor Jennifer Goldson obtained her J.D. from the Ohio State University – Moritz College of Law. Following law school, Professor Goldson worked for Franklin County Domestic Relations and Juvenile Judge Dana Suzanne Preisse. Prior to Capital, Professor Goldson was an attorney in Columbus for 25 years practicing primarily family law. She spent almost 20 years in private practice with Bradley Frick and Associates. Prior to joining the full time faculty this Fall, Professor Goldson was the Senior Staff Attorney and Clinic Supervisor at the Family and Youth Law Center (FYLaw) at the Law School.
 
Paige Kohn, Professor of Legal Writing – a graduate of The Ohio State University with a B.A. in History, Professor Kohn returns home to Capital where she received her J.D. degree, cum laude. Following law school, Professor Kohn worked in private practice, as an E-Discovery attorney with Black Letter Discover, Lumen Legal, and Gnoesis Group, LLC, as an Associate with Vorys, Sater, Serymour and Pease, L.L.P, and as a Staff Attorney to the Honorable Mark A. Serrott of the Franklin Common Pleas Court. Professor Kohn first taught a course at the law school in 2017, which focused on e-discovery for the Paralegal Program.
