Announcement: Summer & Fall 2021 Semesters

4/16/2021  -

On Wednesday, April 14, 2021, Dean Valencia provided the Law School community with an update about the Law School’s planning efforts for the Summer and Fall 2021 semesters. The Law School and University will continue to monitor the pandemic and its development and will comply with all local, state, and national rules and regulations related to the pandemic.

The Summer 2021 semester will remain largely online.

The Fall 2021 semester will return to in-person learning for the vast majority of classes in both the full-time and part-time divisions, assuming no major developments which would dictate otherwise. In-person class instruction will no longer necessitate social distancing, but masks will continue to be required. It is further expected and necessary that students, staff, administrators, and faculty return to the classroom and the Law School work environment fully vaccinated.

A student who is unable to return to in-person learning must seek and officially obtain an accommodation through the regular Law School and university processes set forth in Section 6.5 of the Manual of Policies and Procedures, titled “Guidelines for Student Requests for Accommodations and Exception to Academic Procedures Based on Physical or Mental Disability,” available at https://law.capital.edu/Manual/ and https://www.capital.edu/about-capital/accessibility-services/.

The Law School remains hopeful and encouraged that its students, faculty, and staff will build upon this year’s accomplishments and provide a supportive learning environment in the fall while continuing to prioritize the health and safety of our community.
