Continuing Education Credit
Degree courses, seminars and other continuing education programs offered through Capital University Law School Graduate Law Programs qualify for mandatory continuing education credits for the Ohio Bar and continuing professional education credit for the Ohio Board of Accountancy. Other state bar and accounting authorities usually accept certificates of attendance for fulfillment of mandatory continuing professional education.
Practicing Attorneys:
Attorneys are eligible to receive CLE credits for law school courses. Under CCLE Regulation 402 you can receive three hours of CLE credit for each semester hour of a course completed at an ABA-accredited law school. You do not need to take an exam to obtain CLE credit.
The course may be completed on an audit (not for academic credit) basis. You would need to complete Form 4, Request for Law School Attendance and return it to the Supreme Court of Ohio, Commission on Continuing Legal Education office with any attachments within 30 days after the course has concluded.
Office of Professional Development
The Law School's Office of Professional Development is available to assist graduate law students in career counseling and employment.
Accreditation
Capital University is accredited by the North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary Schools, Commission on Institutions of Higher Education and is authorized to offer degrees by the Ohio Board of Regents. Capital University Law School is accredited by the American Bar Association and is a member of the Association of American Law Schools.
Parking
Parking is free for students in the Capital University Graduate Law Programs.
Library
The law library houses more than 250,000 volumes. A reference librarian is available to assist students. The law library is available 7:00 am – 11:00 pm for currently enrolled students.
