Graduation Checklist

Graduation from Capital University Law School requires coordination with the offices of Student Affairs, Records and Registration, Financial Aid, and Professional Development to ensure all requirements have been met prior to graduation.

Graduation Portal

All prospective graduates must complete a series of modules via a Canvas Graduation Portal.

These modules will collect the necessary information for the commencement program, your diploma, accommodating seating requests, and postgraduate employment. The modules will be completed in a specific sequence and will open at various times before May.

Student Loan Exit Counseling

Students who have borrowed federal loans are required to complete exit counseling upon graduation. The purpose of exit counseling is to ensure students understand their student loan obligations and are prepared for repayment.

Students will be reminded of their rights and responsibilities as borrowers, have an opportunity to update their contact information, and learn about what their federal student loan payments will look like after school. A repayment strategy that best suits the student’s future plans and goals will be recommended as part of the exit counseling session.

Student Loan Exit Counseling is completed online at StudentAid.gov. Students need to select “I am a Graduate or Professional Student” to log in and start the process.  Exit counseling should only take about 30 minutes to complete. Students will need to have their StudentAid.gov login and account information, school name (Capital University Law School), and updated contact information.
