Biography

Jessica Branner Hittle brings a diverse practice experience to her role as professor of legal analysis, research, and writing. In addition to teaching, Hittle is a Title IX Investigator, focusing on investigations of sexual harassment, discrimination, and retaliation for K-12 schools, higher education, and workplaces. Prior to becoming an investigator, Hittle was a prosecutor for the City of Athens, trying numerous cases and arguing several appeals before the Fourth District Court of Appeals. Hittle was also an associate at Bricker & Eckler LLP, practicing commercial litigation and creditors’ rights and bankruptcy. As a graduate of Ohio University, Hittle earned a Bachelor of Science in Communication Studies from the Honors Tutorial College with a concentration in Spanish. She graduated from Capital University Law School in 2013 as the class valedictorian. Hittle is a former president of the Athens County Bar Association and was recently appointed to the OSBA Certified Grievance Committee. Hittle is an Athens native and now lives in Columbus with her husband.
