JD/Master of Business Administration

It seems as though every decision made in business is surrounded with some type of legal implication. Attorneys with an in-depth understanding of the theory, procedures and strategies used in business put themselves at an advantage for placement in corporate law practice.

Students interested in receiving business training in addition to their law degree should consider Capital University Law School's J.D./Master in Business Administration.

This program produces graduates who understand both the practice of law and the complexities of the business world.

The J.D./MBA program is coordinated with Capital University's School of Management which is accredited through the Association of College Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP). Capital's MBA program blends the theory of business administration with the practical aspects of the contemporary corporate environment. The program has been a fixture in the Columbus community since the early 1970s and offers an executive (part-time) program.

Graduates of the J.D./MBA program enjoy the flexibility and additional opportunities available by pursuing a career in law, business or both. The expertise that they develop through the education in both disciplines provides graduates with a highly desired skill set among employers. Capital graduates have been placed in many local and national companies such The Limited, Nationwide Insurance, eBay, Boeing and Wendy's International.

MBA courses are offered on Monday and Thursday evenings from 6-9pm through Capital University's MBA program. The Law School offers J.D. courses in a full-time or part-time format. Students who pursue the joint degree program on a full-time basis are generally able to complete both degrees within 4 years. Students who choose to pursue the program on a part-time basis are generally able to complete both degrees in 5 1/2 years. The structure of the joint degree program shaves 12 credit hours off the pursuit of both degrees separately.

All candidates must apply and be accepted to both programs. To learn more about the MBA visit Capital's website.
