    Visiting the Law School

    We invite you to experience Capital University Law School. Visiting the Law School allows you to see for yourself what Capital has to offer. You may register to attend an Open House or we can design an individual visit to meet your needs. Meet with an admission professional, take a tour of our facility, sit-in on a class and meet current law students. Call 614.236.6310 or email us to arrange a time for you to experience Capital Law!

    Applying

    As an additional benefit to a CapLaw Partner, your  $40 application fee is waived! To receive a fee waiver code, email the Office of Admission before submitting your application. 

    Application Prerequisites

    1. Applicants must have completed an undergraduate bachelor's degree program at a regionally accredited institution.

       

    Application Instructions

    1. Complete the online application and submit the $40 application fee. Apply on or before March 1 and your application fee will be waived automatically.   
    2.  Register for and take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT).
      The LSAT is offered four times a year: June, October, December, and February
      • LSAT score(s) will be included automatically as a part of your Credential Assembly Service (CAS) Report.  
      • You may submit your application prior to taking the LSAT. Please indicate on your application when you will be taking the exam. 
       
    3. Register for the Credential Assembly Service (CAS) - Required 
    4. Submit undergraduate transcripts and graduate transcripts (if applicable) to the CAS. - Required 
    5. Submit two letters of recommendation to the CAS - Required  
    6. Submit a personal statement - Required
      • Your personal statement must be uploaded and sent through the LSAC online application process as a part of your online application. 
       
    7. Submit special circumstances and/or optional essay.
      •  Essay(s) must be uploaded as a part of your online application. 
       
    8. Submit a resume - Required  
      •  Your resume must be uploaded as a part of your online application.

    Character and Fitness Disclosure

    In addition to a bar examination, there are character, fitness, and other qualifications for admission to the bar in every U.S. jurisdiction. Applicants are encouraged to determine the requirements for any jurisdiction in which they intend to seek admission by contacting the jurisdiction. Addresses for all relevant bar admission agencies are available through the National Conference of Bar Examiners.  Applicants can also find detailed information in the Comprehensive Guide to Bar Admission Requirements, published by the National Conference of Bar Examiners.  Acceptance by Capital University Law School does not guarantee certification by any state’s Board of Law Examiners.
