First Assignment: 

 

In this course, students will be drafting documents based on a case involving injuries to a railroad employee that was by Attorney Lee Evans, a partner in the Columbus office of Porter, Wright, Morris, and Arthur, LLP. We are using the case file with his permission. For the first night of class, please familiarize yourself with the Federal Employers’ Liability Act, 45 U.S.C. § 51 et. seq and the Safety Appliance Act, 49 U.S.C. § 20302, and read CSX Transportation, Inc. v. McBride, 131 S. Ct. 2630 (2011).
