Reading: pp. 1-43 in the We the Students book; also review for general background the Tinker/Frasier/Frederick line of cases in your old Con Law casebook (pp. 1576-1596 in Chemerinsky (3d ed.)). Consider what other kinds of issues that might arise today out of these cases (e.g., wearing t-shirts with messages? Facebook postings that criticize the teachers?)
