Summer 2017 Access to Bloomberg Law, Lexis Advance, and Westlaw



BLOOMBERG LAW

Continuing students have unlimited and unrestricted access to Bloomberg Law during the summer.

Students graduating in May 2017 will continue to have unlimited and unrestricted access to Bloomberg Law for 6 months following graduation.

 

LEXIS ADVANCE

Continuing students have unlimited and unrestricted access to Lexis Advance during the summer.

Students graduating in May 2017 have full access to Lexis Advance through their current, law school-provided Lexis IDs until December 31, 2017. Their ID also grants access to the Graduate Home Page, beginning in August 2017, which will provide information for their careers and job search. ID extension is automatic and no registration is required.

 

WESTLAW

Continuing students can get full access over the summer if they have a valid educational need under one of the following provisions:

  • Summer coursework
  • Research assistant assignments
  • Moot Court research
  • Law review or journal research
  • Non-profit work
  • Clinical work
  • Externship sponsored by the school

Click on “Extend Your Password” on the lawschool.westlaw.com homepage for full access. Accounts for continuing students that do not have a permissible educational need are restricted to 60 hours of non-commercial use per month.

Students graduating in May 2017 can extend access while studying for the bar by registering for Westlaw's Grad Elite Program by clicking on “Extend Your Password” on the lawschool.westlaw.com homepage. Registered graduates will retain access to Westlaw through November 2017, and are restricted to 60 hours of non-commercial use per month. Graduates will also automatically retain access to a number of career-related databases and TWEN for 18 months following graduation for one hour per month.
