Capital University Law School to Graduate 208, Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton to Deliver Commencement Address

Capital University Law School ’s commencement and hooding ceremony will take place on Sunday, May 24, 2009, at 2 p.m. at the Ohio Theatre, located at 39 E. State St., Columbus. The class of 2009 includes 195 Juris Doctor candidates and 14 Master of Laws and Master of Taxation graduates.
The Honorable Jeffrey S. Sutton of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit will deliver the Law School’s 2009 commencement address. Judge Sutton was a partner with the law firm of Jones Day Reavis & Pogue in Columbus, Ohio, and served as State Solicitor of the State of Ohio. He also served as a law clerk to the Honorable Lewis F. Powell, Jr. (Ret.), the Honorable Antonin Scalia and the Honorable Thomas J. Meskill. Judge Sutton will be presented with an honorary doctor of laws degree.
Located in Columbus, Ohio, Capital University Law School was founded in 1903 and offers three degree programs – Juris Doctor, LL.M. and a Master of Taxation. The Law School houses national centers and institutes, including The National Center for Adoption Law & Policy and the Center for Dispute Resolution. In addition to enrolling more than 700 law students, Capital University Law School also serves the legal profession and business professionals through certificate programs (mediation, dispute resolution, paralegal, legal nurse consultant and life-care planner) and a variety of scholarly symposia and conferences.
