Ohio Innocence Tour 2013 will include a stop at Capital University Law School April 11
A statewide tour featuring speakers who have been freed from death row will include a stop at Capital University Law School April 11.
The Ohio Innocence Tour 2013, presented by Ohioans to Stop Executions & Witness to Innocence, features men formerly on death row who have been exonerated, along with their families. The event will be at noon Thursday, April 11, in rooms A121 and A122 at the Law School, 303 East Broad Street.
Interested members of the legal community and the public are invited to attend, but must RSVP
by April 5.
Speakers will include Joe D’Ambrosio, Derrick Jamison and Dale Johnston.
According to Ohioans to Stop Executions & Witness to Innocence, “Their stories are compelling, diverse and frightening to consider. We want to give people the opportunity to hear how the system gets it wrong and to consider the consequences.”
The event is hosted by the Law School’s student ACLU and Criminal Law organizations.
The Law School is offering this event as part of its commitment to providing forums for public discourse and legal education. The opinions expressed at the event should not be construed to reflect any official position by the law school about the death penalty.
