CapLaw ABA Moot Court Team Excels in Competition

Capital’s ABA Moot Court Team, made up of Advocates Haley Loheit (2L), Montana MacDonald (2L), and John Hance (3L), and Fellow/Bailiff Evan Mitelman (1L), competed in the ABA National Appellate Advocacy Regional Competition in Brooklyn, New York engaging in oral arguments in a hypothetical appeal to the United States Supreme Court. The team was undefeated through four rounds of competition making it to the regional finals round before being narrowly defeated in the final round of the competition. In addition to advancing to the final round, the team won an award for one of the best briefs in the competition for the written brief the team submitted prior to competition. The team was coached by Capital alumni Mac Malone ’22 and Emily Asher ’22.
