National Center for Adoption Law & Policy hosts successful Autumn Wine Celebration benefitOn Friday, October 12, the National Center for Adoption Law & Policy (NCALP) held its ninth Autumn Wine Celebration fundraiser at The Bluestone in downtown Columbus. Guests sampled a wide assortment of The Hess Collection wine, poured by the expert staff from The Wine Bistro, gourmet hors d'oeuvres and enjoyed a S’mores bar. Guests also bid on silent auction items, had fun with the Photo Booth and enjoyed jazz music provided by Capital University music students. As a new feature of this year’s event, the Center presented hand-blown glass “Champion Awards” to those individuals and organizations that have made significant contributions in the areas of child welfare and adoption law, policy, and practice.
The Center would like to especially thank our event sponsors: The Dave Thomas Foundation for Adoption; Nationwide Children’s Hospital; Porter Wright Morris & Arthur, LLP; Cloppert, Sauter, Latnick & Washburn; Freund, Freeze & Arnold; Kessler & Ballenger Co., L.P.A.; The Law Offices of Saia & Piatt, Inc.; Law Office of Jack G. Gibbs, Jr.; Law offices of Jay E. Michael; Stebelton, Aranda & Snider and Maguire & Schneider and Carlile Patchen & Murphy for their contributions to help underwrite the event. NCALP would also like to thank The Wine Bistro, The Hess Collection, Harcar Photography and Encore Entertainment for partnering with the Center on a successful event. The profits generated through the Autumn Wine Celebration raised crucial funds to support the Center’s work to improve child welfare and adoption law, practices, and policies so that all children – especially those who have been abused or neglected or are dependent on the state for their care – can have healthy, safe, and stable homes.
