     Ohio Differential Response

Since 2004, the Supreme Court of Ohio’s Advisory Committee on Children, Families & the Courts has participated in ongoing efforts to develop and implement recommendations to improve Ohio’s system for accepting and investigating reports of child abuse and neglect. One of the fundamental components of the recommendations submitted by its Subcommittee on Responding to Child Abuse, Neglect, and Dependency was initiating an Alternative Response child protection model in Ohio. In 2006, the legislature passed Amended Substitute Senate Bill 238 which authorized the Alternative Response Pilot Project. This website contains information about Ohio's Alternative Response Pilot Project, general information and resources about Alternative Response, and a calendar of upcoming events for the Ohio pilot project. Click here for more information.

    Ohio Intimate Partner Violence Collaboration

Casey Family Programs and The HealthPath Foundation of Ohio offered their resources to support the development of an “Ohio Intimate Partner Violence Collaborative” (the Ohio IPV Collaborative) to address practice at the intersection of child protection and intimate partner violence. Four counties were selected to participate as demonstration sites for a six month period of intensive training and capacity building. Although the project focused specifically on four current AR counties, Clark, Fairfield, Franklin, and Ross, the recommendations from this initiative may be used as a guide in implementing IPV response programs in child welfare agencies statewide.
