Why the Law Firm Challenge?1) Increase Alumni Participation The Challenge improves Capital University Law School’s alumni participation rate, which is calculated by determining the percentage of law school alumni who make a gift in any amount to Capital University Law School every year. Participation is not just a statistic for the development office; it is the primary way to measure alumni support, which affects the law school’s U.S. News & World Report ranking and reputation. By making a gift, alumni demonstrate the value they place on their law school education from Capital and also show a commitment to improving their alma mater. Our participation rate is viewed as a vote of confidence from alumni and is often considered when corporations and foundations determine whether to direct gifts to Capital University Law School. 2) Strengthen the Capital University Law School Network The Challenge achieves another important goal: to build upon the current Capital University Law School network among alumni, students, firms and employers—a set of important relationships that are mutually beneficial. Our alumni benefit by reconnecting with Capital University Law School and each other in a truly positive and fun way: by working as a team in a competition to support their alma mater. Participants often find that this experience also rekindles fond memories of their time at Capital University Law School and renews relationships with classmates. Each of the firms benefit by enhancing their recruiting prospects among the best students of Capital University Law School. Finally, Capital University Law School and its students benefit from this network by gaining exposure to the tremendous resources and contacts of its alumni at the firms participating in this Challenge. 3) Enhance the Profile of the Graduate’s Own Law Firm The Challenge provides a powerful public relations tool to participating firms. By contributing to this campaign, local firms distinguish their business as one that supports an important investment: the education of future attorneys. Take the Challenge! If your firm is not already a part of the Challenge, we invite you to join us in this fun and important program.
