    LEGAL NURSE CONSULTANT PROGRAM 
    APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION 

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    Congratulations on taking the first step towards a new and exciting application of your nursing education and expertise in the Capital University Law School Legal Nurse Consultant (LNC) Program.  This program allows the experienced BSN registered nurse to explore how his/her skills can be put to use in the legal environment, and also features a unique interdisciplinary opportunity for the experienced RN looking to complete his/her bachelor’s degree.

    Please follow these instructions for completing the application process for admission to the Capital University Law School LNC program and, if applicable, the Capital University School of Nursing’s Bachelors Completion Program.     

    1. Indicate whether you will be applying solely to the Capital University Law School LNC Program, or also to the Capital University School of Nursing Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Completion Program.
    2. Submit a 200-300 word essay in which you state your reasons for applying to the Legal Nurse Consultant Program and your overall professional goals. This essay will be used to evaluate your writing ability and will be considered by the Admissions Committee as one of the criteria for admission.
    3. Submit a resume or curriculum vita with your application.
    4. Request that official transcripts of ALL previous undergraduate and graduate coursework be sent directly to Capital University Law School Legal Nurse Consultant Program. 
    5. Submit the names of three references who have knowledge related to your academic/clinical skills and your potential for success in the LNC program.  Possible references include former faculty and your current clinical associates/supervisor/employer.
    6. Send a check in the amount of $30.00 made out to Capital University Law School for the application fee.  

    Additional Admission Requirements:

    • Current RN licensure.
    • A minimum of 5000 hours of clinical experience.
    • A bachelor’s degree.*

    The admissions committee also will consider your undergraduate GPA, community involvement, professional experience and all other relevant factors. 

    *Note:  Consideration will be given for a limited number of seats to nurses with a current RN license who have a minimum of 15 years of clinical experience combined with an associate’s degree or at least 60 hours of college credit.
