     H. Ritchey Hollenbaugh  H. Ritchey Hollenbaugh, a partner with Carlile Patchen & Murphy LLP, has been named the 2013 recipient of the Ohio State Bar Association's highest honor, the Ohio Bar Medal Award.

     Dennis McCarthy  Lieutenant General Dennis M. McCarthy is President Obama's appointee to serve as a member of the National Commission on the Structure of the Air Force.

    Scott Mote  Scott R. Mote was honored with the Distinguished Alumnus of the Year Award at the eighth annual Alumni Recognition Luncheon on April 12.

     Anne Taylor  The Honorable Anne Taylor was presented with the Alumni Outstanding Service Award at the eighth annual Alumni Recognition Luncheon on April 12.

    Jim Havens  James R. Havens was honored with the Josiah H. Blackmore II Dean's Award at the eighth annual Alumni Recognition Luncheon on April 12.

    Larry Hilsheimer  Larry Hilsheimer has been named Executive Vice President and Chief Financial Officer for Scotts Miracle-Gro Company, the world's largest marketer of branded consumer lawn and garden products.

    Douglas Suter  Douglas J. Suter of Hahn Loeser & Parks, has been named to the 2013 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®. Doug concentrates his practice in the areas of labor & employment law, complex commercial litigation (including wrongful death and serious permanent injury and workplace accidents), business litigation and civil rights/government law.

      Tami Kamin Meyer was recently named of counsel covering Ohio for the Consumer Attorneys of America, a national law firm based in Florida. Her practice focuses on personal bankruptcy and debt settlement.

    Craig R. Baldwin  Craig R. Baldwin of Newark has been appointed by Ohio Governor John R. Kasich to serve as a Judge on the Fifth District Court of Appeals

    Margot Holcomb  Margot B. Halcomb has been appointed by Ohio Governor John R. Kasich to serve as a Judge on the Butler County Domestic Relations Court.

    Andrea Woods  Andrea Woods has been elected to the Nabholz Construction Services Board of Directors. Nabholtz Construction Services, founded in 1949 is licensed to serve clients in 43 states.

    1997 

    Hannah Blumenstiel  Hannah Blumenstiel has been selected to serve as a judge for the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of California.
     Scot Crow  Scot Crow joined Dickenson Wright PLLC in March. Scot focuses his practice on corporate and business law, including representing both buyers and sellers in mergers and acquisitions, hedge fund formation, private equity fund formation and general corporate matters. Scot earned his LL.M in Taxation from Capital in 1998.

    Yvonne Twiss  Capital University Law School's Advanced Bar Studies (ABS) program received the 2013 Impact Award at the eighth annual Alumni Recognition Luncheon on April 12. The award was accepted by the program's creator Yvonne Twiss, L'98, professor of bar services and ABS director.

    Steven Cuckler  Steven Cuckler of Rinehart Rishel & Cuckler Ltd., has been named to the Forty Under 40 Honoree Class of 2013 by Columbus Business First.   

    2001

    Eve Ellinger  Eve Ellinger of Ice Miller, has been named to the Forty Under 40 Honoree Class of 2013 by Columbus Business First. 

    2002

     Michael Eisenberg   Michael Eisenberg will be returning as a guest speaker at the National Organization of Veterans Advocates Spring Conference in Washington, D.C. on April 19 and 20. As NOVA celebrates 20 years, Michael will be presenting on how Veterans Benefits and Military Retirement are divided in state-court divorce proceedings. 
    Jonathan Secrest  Jonathan R. Secrest has been promoted to partner at Roetzel and Andress LPA Jonathan focuses his practice on employment law.  

    2003

    Melissa Hoeffel  Melissa Hoeffel has been promoted to partner at Roetzel and Andress LPA  Melissa focuses her practice on government relations and administrative law.  

    2004

     Sandra McIntosh  Sandra R. McIntosh was honored with the Young Alumnus of the Year Award at the eighth annual Alumni Recognition Luncheon on April 12. 
     John F. Kirtley  John Kirtley, II was promoted to associate general counsel at Ameritas Life Insurance Corporation in Cincinnati. In addition to his J.D., John earned an LL.M from Capital in 2005. 
    Neil Sander  Neil Sander was promoted to partner at Wiles Boyle Burkholder & Bringardner LPA.

    2005

    Sarah St. Clair  Sarah St. Clair was promoted to vice president at the Fifth Third Bancorp Cincinnati office.  

    2006

     Andrea Salimbene  Andrea Salimbene has been named a partner at McMahon DeGulis LLP, an environmental and energy law firm. Andrea has also been named to the Forty Under 40 Honoree Class of 2013 by Columbus Business First. 
    Michael Traven  Roetzel & Andress LPA announced that Michael Traven has been promoted to partner. Michael focuses his practice on commercial and business related transactions and litigation.  

    2007

     Lindsay Ford Ellis  Lindsay Ford Ellis was honored with the Graduate of the Last Decade Award at the eighth annual Alumni Recognition Luncheon April 12

    2008

    Jennifer Prindle  Jennifer Prindle joined Crabbe Brown James LLP and practices in the area of family law. 

      

    Nita Hanson  Nita Hanson, an associate at Dinsmore & Schol LLP, has been nominated to serve on the Ohio Women's Bar Association Board of Trustees. She is co-chair of the OWBA membership committee and served on the Supreme Court Judicial Ratings Committee. Hanson completed her paralegal studies at Capital in 1985.

    Diana Hawkins  Diana Hawkins has joined the Columbus, Ohio, office of Fisher & Phillips LLP as an associate. Diana will focus her practice on labor and employment litigation, counseling and health and safety matters.

    Whitney Cole  Whitney Cole has joined Reminger Co., LPA as an associate in their Columbus Office. Whitney focuses her legal practice in business and commercial litigation, professional liability and general casualty insurance. 
    Tyler Tarney  Tyler Tarney has joined Reminger Co., LPA as an associate in their Columbus Office. Tyler concentrates his practice in employment and labor law, professional liability, business and commercial litigation and general casualty insurance.

    In Memoriam

    Charles William Winters, L'53 at age 85 passed away suddenly at his residence on Tuesday, February 19.  He began practicing law in 1953 and was still a practicing attorney and the owner of Winterland Title Agency. 

    Megan Banker, L'90, at age 55 died at the Wheeling Hospital in Wheeling, West Virginia on February 12.  Megan was an attorney with the Belmont County Common Pleas Court and previously with the Prosecutor's Office.

    James "Mac" MacDonald Bullock, Jr., age 48, passed away on February 16 following an extended illness. He earned his Master of Taxation degree at Capital in 1999. Longtime Director at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP and formerly Deloitte, Mac was also an adjunct professor of accounting at Franklin University.
