2020 Keynote Speaker - Kay Coughlin, Chief Facilitator,

Top Five Myths of Intergenerational Leadership

Our modern workplaces are crowded with a jumble of beliefs about age and our five adult generations. As established and emerging leaders, we recognize the stakes are too high for us to risk settling for outdated perceptions about how anybody “should” act or react based on their physical age. Yet assumptions and poorly-interpreted communications seem like unavoidable hazards that leaders simply must accept. This keynote address is for you if, instead of worrying over resentment, bias, confusion and unhealthy competition, your leaders want to easily create opportunities to attract and retain talent, sales and a robust pipeline to ensure future success.

In this address you will learn about:
    • The five adult generations that make up our society: iGen/Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X-ers, Boomers and Traditionalists
    • The traits and characteristics that are frequently stereotyped for each generation
    • The five myths about generations that leaders inadvertently rely on every day
    • The one mindset you must develop if you want your organization to shine among the competition for talent and sales

Kay Coughlin, CEO and Chief Facilitator, Facilitator on Fire, is on a mission to help iGen/Gen Z, Millennials, Gen X-ers and Boomers (and Traditionalists, too!) work together on teams that are higher-performing and happier. As a speaker, Kay is well-known for her energy, affection for all generations, clear messages and call for leaders to become their best selves by examining their own defaults. Kay’s work is focused on helping leaders learn to master three essential leadership skills: how to be clear, stop making excuses for people, and model the behavior you want to see.
